I will be aiming to post a new blog every day, focusing on Two Words (different each day) and what they mean to me. These Two Words may appear random, but each set of Two Words will have significance in some way, to me at least! And hopefully, in turn, to you. These Two Words may be happy in nature, or maybe somewhat subdued. Some will be rather abstract, others with quite a specific focus. Some may be raves, some may be rants.
Overall, Two Words may seem a simple combination, not too hard to decipher - but they can, at the same time, be very powerful and have many connotations. I will be seeking to delve into the power and emotion they generate and determine what they might suggest beyond first glance. Sometimes there might be an "and" or other conjunction between the Two Words. Sometimes not.
As a "word engineer" (my self-coined term for being enamoured of all things to do with words and writing, in whatever form) I love to write and this is a special space to share the myriad of thoughts that form inside my head.
Where and how do they form? Sometimes in the shower (which is where I dreamt up this Two Words blog idea), sometimes when I'm 12km high in the sky. I may be walking the streets of a far flung city, I may be strolling locally with friends. Eureka thoughts may form when I'm beach walking under sunny skies or sitting in the twilight with a wine. Or I may just be sitting in front of my computer, pondering.
Sometimes the very best thoughts and ideas come to me in the wee small hours when I am in a state that is neither awake or asleep. In this other realm of consciousness, an idea can hit me in a form so vivid it is startling. However, I never get up and write these new ideas down - my measure of a successful idea is, if it still there in the morning, then it is worth capturing. And that is what I will do. If not - well, it's a forgotten idea and I just let it go. If it really did have any substance, I know it will return to me another night. It probably just needs a little more incubation.
I hope, by sharing my thoughts and stories, you may look beyond, glance again, peek sideways, seek further - to gain new perspectives, perhaps gain some clarity, maybe even get a bit peeved (but hopefully not for long!)
In the long run, I hope you will:
- learn some things you didn't know you didn't know
- ponder some things you may never have thought about
- recognise some things you may have been thinking about for a while.
Without further ado, I will start writing ... Two Words ...
Check back regularly for a new set of Two Words in your world!

About Me - Sally Blyth (aka Mask Lady):
I am an Auckland-based (New Zealand) designer, artist, writer and facilitator with an unconventional professional background, having worked mainly in health, wellbeing and disability, here in NZ and overseas, for many years before focusing on creative/inspirational endeavours over the past decade.
I write for Destinations travel magazine, write and edit various community
newsletters, undertake business writing for an international agency and have

My writing, art and designs have
earned awards and commendations and a highlight is having had six garments in
the WOW World of Wearable Art show over recent years. (I currently have three in
progress to enter for this year, 2016!) www.worldofwearableart.com
I am an avid traveller, approach life from ‘the big
picture’, tackle everything with an edge of difference, and enjoy sharing my
‘kit of life’ and encouraging everyone to look beyond that first glance.
Full moons, masks, curiosity, word-engineering, new territories and old friends
have a special place in my world, as do my home studio and family life with my
long-term partner and two sons.
